Everything you need to know about and fall in love with Pearls

As you know this post is all about pearl and some of you are wondering,

”What is pearl anyway?”.

Pearls are created by living creature.

They have many different colors, sizes and shapes.

The ideal pearl is a perfectly round and smooth but for some reason I prefer the pearls are not since I like the organic look.

It really depends on what you like and hopefully you will find what you prefer.

Whatever your favorite pearls are, they are a powerful symbol of status and sophistication.

I will show you 4 types of pearl.

Akoya Pearl

It is known for it’s luster and perfectly round shape.

Most of them are harvested in Japan.

The first time the cultured Akoya pearls were successfully grown by Kokichi Mikimoto In 1893.

In the 1920’s, Coco Chanel made Akoya pearl strand a must have accessory for upper class throughout in Europe, affirming that “A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls.”

Tahitian Pearl

Tahitian pearl has a remarkable color rage from creamy light gray to green peacock and deep black.

They are considered to be the second most valuable pearl.

One surprise that I can give you is that the Tahitian pearls are not from Tahiti.

Tahitian pearls are grown in French Polynesia, a group of 5 island archipelagos that covers the size the Europe!

South Sea Pearl

South Sea Pearls are the largest pearl. Typically with a size between 8mm to 16mm. They come in from white and silver to gold. White pearls have been always a classic choice but gold pearls are said to bring wealth and prosperity to the owner.

Freshwater Pearl

They are the most commonly produced pearl.

These pearls come in a rainbow of natural pastel colors such as lavender, pink, and every shade in between. Most of them are from China.

You might not know about this but Pearls are the oldest gem. It presented as gifts to Chinese royalty as early as 2300 BC while in ancient Rome, pearl jewelry was considered the ultimate status symbol.

Another thought you might have is "how much pearls are".

It depends but these are some expensive ones.

This piece owned by Marie Antoinette was auctioned by Sotheby’s in Geneva.

It ended up selling at $36 million dollars in 2018. Don't freak out about this price because next one is even more expensive!

This might be the biggest and the most expensive Pearl in the world.

this pearl has been found by a fisherman in Philippine and has been verified at 26 inches in length, 12 inches in width and weighing nearly 75 pounds. It is valued at $100 Million.

Last but not least, how we really wear a pearl jewelry?

Let’s look at some of these iconic jewelry styling that you might want to try.

Like once Coco Chanel said, we can wear as much as we like and be sophisticated and elegant.

This season, go with oversized gold chains that make a bold statement solo or when layered with other over-the-top pieces.

With casual outfits

This is the number one reason I love to wear a pearl jewelry.

It can go with any outfit with any occasions! It won't be too much or too less.

And most importantly, any pearl will look good on any age and any gender!

Pearls have played an important role in history. From The Egyptian queen Cleopatra to the ancient Greeks used pearls for their wedding jewelry, a tradition that has continued today.

Unlike many other jewelry trends, pearls truly are timeless. Whether you’re wearing white pearls or a more colorful pearl, their shining iridescence connects you with the great beauties of the past. Simultaneously a trendy and classic style, pearls are the perfect jewelry.

We hope you enjoyed this little information about pearl and would love to see how you wear your pearls.
